These are technically Stitch tissue rolls - there are even Stitchie dispensers you can get to dole them out as needed for sneezes and other necessities. But, yeah, basically, Stitch toilet paper.

Fun detail: these are from the "Disney Fantasy Shop." Because, everyone's fantasy is Stitch toilet tissue, right?

Also got a Stitch toilet rug set. They actually make a lot of this kind of stuff, but I liked this one particularly since it appears to show Stitch hanging off the rim of your toilet.

OK, so, we're veering off from the neat stuff an onto the path that leads us to "weird shit only tiki likes."

This, as it turns out, is not Stitch sanitary napkins, as I had first hoped, but something almost as good: a 3 pack of replacement sanitizing wipes. Because, if you have the misfortune to stray out into the real world, there are GERMS there!



Just more proof that in Japan, you can find Stitch licensed ANYTHING.

These things are actually not uncommon to find in Japan and other Asian countries - it's that little rug dealie that goes on the lid of your toilet and directly underneath, and featuring a beloved Disney character. Now, I've never in my life quite understood the need for a rug on top of your toilet, but, ya know, chacun a son gout.

Anyways, it was the graphics on this particular set that caught my attention: this is meant to look like you've got a beloved Disney character actually hanging off of your toilet seat. Including Minnie Mouse.

I should 'splain, this is another Japanese cultural dealie. When you go in and use the public bathroom in Japan, one thing you'll notice is, a lot of time, there's no paper towels, or blow dryer. The reason is most everyone brings along their own little hand towel in their bag. So, this being Japan, of course the towel can be mighty kawaii. Ostensibly, these cutie towels are aimed at school kids, but I bet a lot of adults carry them as well.

In case you ever find yourself in the Magic Kingdom and discover to your horror that your nails have grown unfashionably long, STITCH CAN HELP!

And, yes, this is a 100% official Tokyo Disney Resort item. You know what would also be cool? Stitch nose hair clippers. I haven't seen any of those ... yet! But I'm keeping my eye out.

The Stitch! Toothbrushing Timer

So, though complete incompetence at the Japanese language has not prevented me from filling the spare bedroom with Stitchiana, it does lead to a certain amount of surprise when I actually receive an item I ordered on the basis of a tiny image on the Intarwebs.

This is one of those situations



I ordered this cute item from a Japanese web site named Belle Maison, which seems to specialize in kawaii household objects. I saw the hourglass and figured it was some kind of kitchen timer. Then when I finally received the item, I puzzled for a bit over the little ceramic holder. Was it to hold your hard boiled egg? Then I took another look at the box: this is a toothbrush holder! After you've eaten your coconut cake and coffee, you set the timer to make sure you spend enough time brushing your teeth. Good dental hygiene, with Stitch! Keen.

Gracious thanks to Amy L. for identification of these lovelies. Basically, the way people traditionally have taken baths in Japan is a bit different (and, really, makes more sense) than folks here in the West. Instead of soaking your dirty body in the tub, and getting THAT all yucky, you instead sit and clean yourself off, and then have a relaxing soak in the nice clean hot water.

You usually use a bowl (called a tarai) and a scoop (the te-oke) to take water from the tub to your face or wherever. And, basically, these are Lilo & Stitch tarai and te-oke, in lovely designer pink and blue! I'm especially fascinated by Stitch bath items, since the character is so averse to water, it's funny that they'd ignore this for the sake of licensing a few more items.

Every so often, you come upon an item which is just totally amazing.

This is one of these times.

This is the Stitch toilet brush and holder. I bought it from an online company called Belle Maison in Japan - they always seem to have a lot of cute Stitch household items. And I was well aware that the Japanese have a deep affection for Disney-themed bathroom items. I actually have, somewhere in the stacks, a plastic toilet brush that has a picture of Stitch stencilled on it - I believe it was available all over Asia.



But the first time I saw this item in the Belle Maison catalog, I recognized its superiority - it's actually shaped like Stitch! And, upon finally receiving it, I was even more pleasantly surprised. Instead of cheap plastic, it's actually made of ceramic, and is pleasingly heavy. And the brush itself has a neat modular design - it actually comes in four bits that you screw together.



And the box, which is very cute (though it unfortunately got crushed a bit in transit) is branded for the Stitch! anime. It even pictures Izayoi Island! So, this is the Toilet brush Yuna's grandma might use! Excellent.
