Found a few more HTTYD foodstuffs at the WalMart up in Marysville.

It was a good drivin' day so we decided to go out in the convertible. Nothing Stitch-tacular at the Disney store at Alderwood, so we headed north. We were rewarded with Toothless-shaped gummies, chocolaty dragon eggs, and finally found the elusive Hiccup Kool-Aid!



I also got stuck for some time in the bedding section. Decided against getting a full HTTYD linen set, but I did grab the Toothless throw blanket, so I can snuggle up with Dragons when I watch TV.

So, we finally made it out to Walmart this weekend. In case you didn't know, Wally World had an exclusive contract with Dreamworks to serve ALL of the HTTYD merch. Including, as it turned out, the food items. And, we likee food items.

Had a tip from the lovely Mmymoon that there was cutie dragon Kool Aid to be had there. Well, we didn't find any, but we did find How to Train Your Dragon Chewy Granola Bars, Raisin Bran, Orville Redenbachers, Mini Wheats, and Beefaroni. Not a bad haul!

There were also a few toys, but the selection was underwhelming, and the quality (at least to me) looked spotty. So, we took a pass.

So, since we were mostly out of town when these toys were actually available at Mickey Dee's, I decided to go ahead and order a set off eBay.

And now I'm thinking maybe I should've ordered a SECOND set, ya know, to open and play with.

Hoo boy.

So, I know I said when I started this blog that it was just gonna be a repository for my Stitch obsession. So, you'll forgive me if you find this item a bit on the OT side.

This is a promotional sticker set for the Japanese version of How to Train Your Dragon, "Hic & Dragon." The film won't be released in Japan until summer, so product is still relatively light. The interesting thing, as far as I'm concerned, is that it looks like all of the chara are rendered pretty much as you see them in the film, EXCEPT Toothless, who's drawn in an extreme chibi manner.

In case you didn't know (longtime readers may click away now before the boredom sets in) tiki started out as a little baby collector buying Japanese dolls. I simply decided to pick up "one or two" Japanese items from the Lilo & Stitch cartoon. Well, as it turned out, J Stitch stuffs was not just cute, it was freaking adorable, and so I soon proceeded to bury my doll room in plush aliens.

How is this relevant to HTTYD? Um, Toothless? Cute chibi Toothless? I suspect I'm gonna be in trouble, come summer. A lot of trouble.

Sorry no update, I actually bought some kinda kewl Stitchie stuff the other day in Oslo, but Intarnets no workie. Will try to get those up. Meanwhile, Norway has seen the release of How to Train Your Dragon, which is pretty funny considering there are Vikings and all. Note how Astrid gets top billing here?



Here's the fun bit - this poster was at a Boots pharmacy. And, they actually had some kinda pills that have HTTYD characters on them. I picked up the version with Hiccup and Toothless. Not quite sure what the pills do though. Mr. Tikistitch opined that they are herpes medicine.

This is kind of obscure, and probably no other Lilo & Stitch collector would be obsessive enough to bother! This is a Japanese promo card set for Chris Sanders' new cartoon, "How to Train Your Dragon," which will be known as "Hic to Dragon" in Japan.

The fun thing is, if you look at the Japanese text up at the top, it says "Lilo & Stitch." According to my friend Amy L., the Japanese version of the trailer fairly hits you over the head with the fact that this work is coming from Chris "Stitch" Sanders. Which, must thrill Disney to no end now that Chris has moved to Dreamworks!

I've noticed that the Japanese promotional materials also tend to favor the sweet and sentimental elements of the movie over the high comedy, while the US market trailers I've seen so far tend to favor the latter. Here's the Japanese site, if you wanna poke around.

BTW, from what I've seen of Toothless so far, the little dragon seems very Stitch-y. I suspect I'm going to have to acquire a toy or two for this new film, despite my strict "Stitch Only" policy.
