Behind the mask
Not sure if it's the threat of swine flu, Stitch's popularity, or a combination thereof, but there seems to be a bumper crop of Stitch surgical face masks available in Japan this season.
What? Stitch surgical face masks? Yeah, it's traditional in Japan that when you get a runny nose or a cough, you go out wearing a face mask, so as not to infect anyone else. Naturally, since little kids tend to be little germ incubators, they make cutie masks for kids, featuring beloved Disney characters. (Just like, in the USA, if you get a boo boo, you get to have Sponge Bob or Disney Princess Band Aids.) But, the sheer variety of Stitch masks we've seen lately is boggling! They have Cutie Stitch, Leroy and Stitch, even pink and purple Stitch.

Izayoi Island Underpants
We've seen a lot of underwear bearing Stitch! anime tags lately in Japan, but these are the first that are actually themed after the cartoon, and its fictional setting, Izayoi Island
The pattern depicts Stitch and Angel dressed in traditional garb, dancing around a temple, amongst Shisa dogs and I think that's even the island's poisonous snake.

Stitch Magic Straw
So, this was the only Stitchie thing I picked up this weekend in California, but it's pretty keen: a Stitch "Magic" straw. How does it work????? Ooo, I don't know. (Thanks, Michael & Lisa!!!)
Oh, wait, I forgot, Mr. Tikistitch also got me a "Stitch as Indy Jones" pin from Steve. Who hates Stitch. Which makes it pretty funny. But, we forgot it in Mr. Tiki's box at the Rancho, so I'll have to get a picture later.
